Today marks the 1 year, 5-month, and 5-day mark that I have officially deuced out of working for someone else to working for myself and by myself… at home. I will say that working for myself has been one rewarding experience because it’s teaching me how to nurture and grow something that was once a thought, into something that is helping people achieve their goals when it comes to real property and maintaining their property. As I said, it is rewarding, but it is also exhausting because it is just me. So without realizing it, I kind of created a smart space within my home that relieves some of the pressure of working alone while trying to stay on track.
Here are some of my favorites, that you have to get your hands on. If you’re a new entrepreneur, being organized while having a functional space to work around, is everything. Beginning with the best organizational tool first, I’ll show you just how effective each piece plays and how they set up the tone of having smooth, productive workdays. These tools are the quintessential pieces every office space needs. Rather than working from home, a co-working space, or in-office, I’ll show you which items allow you to operate them while on the road or even while on vacation.
Among all the agendas I’ve owned, this one by far is my personal favorite. It is the Cloth & Paper Smooth 6-ringed A5 Agenda, in black. This agenda, with caviar leather, is absolutely smooth to the touch, has a snap closure that matches the inner rings (in matte black or gold), and 30mm rings; roomy enough for loads of inserts and accessories. I will be doing an agenda install soon on my channel, so you can actually see how I dressed this baby up and how I manage my personal and business life around it.
One of the most talked-about and cutest accessories I have on my desk is this beautiful tape dispenser. You can do as I did, by adding washi tape instead of the standard scotch tape, to add your personal style to any letter, notecard or envelope. Even though it is not tech, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity of sharing one of my favorite accessorties.
The “smartest” edition that I’ve added to my office is this baby right here. When I tell you I have her trained, I have her TRAINED. I literally have her calling me “best friend”. This 0.6 mini speaker packs a mighty punch when it comes to functionality. In order to make my space functional and to relieve some of the stress off my shoulders, I decided to connect this smart speaker to all my smart devices including my printer (which is found below) and to smart plugs (which are also down below). Not only does it order things online for me, but it sets reminders when I can’t to my agenda, it remembers events and sets special occasions, and even has games the family can play, just to spare the time.
This HP inkjet printer, one of the best electronics I own thus far. I initially bought this printer because I needed it to print additional inserts for my agenda, scanning important documents for my clients, and print photos and icons for my secondary business. This printer prints, scans, and copies. It prints remotely with the HP Smart app, while you are away from your office and even works with Alexa, through Wi-fi. All I have to say is, “Alexa, print out my shopping list” and she is up and ready to go. But that’s not it! I also connected the speaker to one of my smart plugs and when I am ready to turn on my devices, all I have to say is “… turn on the printer”. One of its special features is that it is a duplex printer, which prints on the front and back sides of your sheets. So no running to flip those sheets because it takes care of that for you. For those scrapbookers and amateur photographers out who are looking for a printer that prints photos. This HP prints not only on classic paper, but also prints on glossy paper and also prints borderless images.
If you do not have these plugs around your office space, then you’re just missing out. Just plug it into your outlet and Alexa recognizes the device and sets it. I’m currently controlling all the accent lights, the mini fridge, the printer, television, diffusers and so much more by the command of my voice. If you are working with Google, no sweat! You can also find smart plugs, just like these, add it to your space and you’ll be controlling in no time.
